Royals XI pick up another victory

Reading development coach Chris Cummins led his side to a 3-2 victory over Conference side Ebbsfleet Town yesterday night.

The youthful yet experienced line-up contained the likes of new signing Pierce Sweeney, Welsh U21 international Jake Taylor, England U19 international Jordan Obita and Irish striker Karl Sheppard. Striker Brett Williams also made the starting XI, after his trial with Scottish club St Johnstone proved unsuccessful.

It was the captain of the night, Jake Taylor, that opened the scoring after nodding home from a Jordan Obita corner. The Conference side responded with an equaliser, before Obita and Williams got on the scoresheet after half-time to put the game beyond doubt. Ebbsfleet got a goal back, but to no avail as the youthful side won again.

Reading: Henly, Keown, Griffin, MacDonald, Sweeney, Taylor, Tshibola, Arnold, Obita, Sheppard, Williams

Subs: Tanner, Losasso, Webb, Samuel
