Royals draw level with Cherries

Reading drew with League One side Bournemouth, as they played their first friendly since returning from Portugal last week.

The game finished 2-2 at the Goldsands Stadium, with the Premier League outfit taking the lead on two occasions. New signing Adrian Mariappa opened the scoring with a fine header, but the Cherries replied with a goal from Wes Thomas before half time. Robson-Kanu then won a penalty, converting calmy to give the Royals a deserved lead.

Once again Paul Groves' side responded, with Reading failing to clear a ball into the box which allowed Miles Addison to power a header home. The game also saw a return to action for Jem Karacan, who played the final 20 minutes of the game. Goalkeeper Adam Federici also completed the 90 minutes unfazed by a rib problem.

Reading: Federici, Cummings (Keown), Mariappa (Pearce), Morrison (Gorkss), Shorey (Harte), McCleary (HRK), Tabb (Karacan), Leigertwood (Guthrie), McAnuff (Obita), Hunt (Pogrebnyak), Church (Le Fondre)
