Reading XI side beat Eastleigh

A Reading XI side mixed with youth and experience beat Conference South side Eastleigh 3-2 on Saturday.

The match gave game time to midfielder Jem Karacan, who is continuing his promising recovery from a broken ankle suffered four months ago. Veteran midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson also lined up along side the Turkish midfielder, while there was also a start for the defensive duo of Sean Morrison and Nicky Shorey.

Eastleigh began the match on the front foot and found themselves 2-0 up on the Royals. Welsh U21 international Jake Taylor got one back just before half time, then the second period came to light from a Royals prospective. Goals from Aaron Tshibola and two from Craig Tanner turned the game on its head and give Reading the deserved victory.

Reading XI: Henley, Keown, Cooper, Morrison, Shorey, Lossaso, Gunnarsson, Karacan, Edwards, Taylor, Samuel
