Andersen Pompey move falls through

Reading goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen's proposed move to Portsmouth has fallen through, after huge wage cuts at Pompey mean they cannot pay his wages.

The 23-year old has agreed to join the League One side last month on a season-long loan. However, a 62.5% wage cut at Pompey means that they cannot afford to pay Andersen's wages and the move has therefore collapsed. Although, Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton has said the deal is not completely dead and hopes to agree a new transfer with the Royals.

Royals boss Brian McDermott is still attempting to ship out the Danish U21 international on loan to gain valuable first team experience, with Alex McCarthy and Adam Federici the two goalkeepers for our Premier League campaign. A move back to his native country of Denmark could also be on the cards, with Danish Superliga side Brøndby previously showing interest.

Andersen deserve a chance maybe Championship. He is a decent keeper. his past record of player of the tournement at the U-21 euros or world cup (whatever) shows he's good!
