Alfie relishing Premier League dream

Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has admitted his is relishing playing in the Premier League, when he was playing League Two football over a year ago.

The 25-year old forward joined from League Two outfit Rotherham around this point last year and scored some of the most crucial goals in his career, as he helped Reading to promotion. Alfie already has one Premier League goal to his name this season, scoring from the spot against Stoke on the opening game of the season.

Speaking to Jonny Fordham of the Reading Post, Le Fondre said: "I look around the pitch and see all these class players, but it will be like that every week. I can`t see myself ever being over-awed by it. Chelsea had Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Juan Mata - it`s a class apart. It was a bit surreal for me.

'It felt weird against Stoke too as I`m more used to playing Crewe and that. It`s nice to play the big teams and I`m buzzing about that. I think the novelty will wear off. It`s a great game to come back to, though, playing Spurs at home and on the TV - we`re all eagerly awaiting it. People need time. They`ve had a slow start, but Tottenham always do well and they are a top-four team.'
