Capello: Pog not good enough for Russia

Former England manager and current Russia boss Fabio Capello has said Pavel Pogrebnyak is not yet 'good enough' to get into the Russia squad.

The 28-year old has made a good start to life at Premier League side Reading, scoring four goals in eight games, averaging a goal every two games. However despite watching Pogrebnyak play on numerous occasions for the Royals, the former Real Madrid manager has not seen enough in the Russian to warrant an international place.

Capello, who took on the Russia's manager role in August, commented on Pogrebnyak's international future by saying to en.rian.ru/sports: 'The players in the national team squad are the best at the moment. I know Pogrebnyak very well. I've seen his last three matches. I know this player offers some great possibilities.'

'I made my choice in favor of Dzyuba because I think that player could adapt into an excellent option in attack. If Dzyuba's in the squad and Pogrebnyak isn't, that's my choice.' 'The Pog' has made 33 appearances for his national side, scoring on eight occasions.

He really isn't that good. he's made out better by last season but he couldnt even cut it where all the german strikers are huge and easily score

I don't think he is renowned for being a goalscorer though, more of a hold up player.
