Midfielder earns first international call

Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has received his first international call-up for Turkey.

The 23-year old has been capped at under 17, under 18, under 19 and under 21 level on numerous occasions, but has finally earned his called up the the national side. This comes after signing a contract extension at the Madejski Stadium, keeping him at the club until 2016.

Abdullah Avci has called up Karacan, who made comments during the week that his aspiration was to play for the Turkish national side. Having joined up with the squad today, Jem hopes to involved in their World Cup qualifier against Hungary on Tuesday night in Budapest.
