Royals striker makes Championship move

Reading striker Simon Church was joined Huddersfield Town on an emergency one-month loan deal.

The 23-year old is yet to play any Premier League football this season, with his only game time coming as a substitute against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup last week. The loan will expire next month, but if Church impresses at the John Smith's Stadium, there is a chance the spell could be extended beyond December.

Royals boss Brian McDermott was reluctant to send out the Welsh international yet, as he has not extended his contract beyond the end of this current season. This means that the academy graduate is free to talk to other clubs in January and could possibly seal a permanent move away from the Madejski Stadium during this period.

I for one wouldn't be overly upset if Church was to leave, as he really hasn't shown any signs of improvement in recent seasons. He had a decent spell in the first team during Christmas time last year, but the signing of Jason Roberts was probably the final nail in his coffin. I think its highly unlikely he will be a Reading player next season.
