'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Defender reveals Royals deal is close

Reading target Stoppila Sunzu has told the media that he is close to finalising his move to Reading.

The 24-year old flew back to South Africa last week, after spending a few days in Berkshire to train with his potential team mates and complete a contract at the Madejski Stadium. It is now down to Reading and his current club, TP Mazembe, to agree on a fee for the defender.

Sky Sports reported that the Zambian international said: 'Everything went well. I'm happy because I passed the assessment and now it's up to TP Mazembe and Reading to finalise the deal. When they do that, I will sign the contract right here.'

There have been some very interesting quotes from the Zambian coach, who feels Sunzu is 'too good' for us, which I will put up tomorrow. This will leave us with four capable centre backs fighting for the starting spots, despite Stoppila also capable of playing defensive midfield.
