Awards for Royals duo

Reading manager Brian McDermott and Adam Le Fondre have WON the Premier League manager and player of the month awards respectively.

The 26-year old has scored an incredible five goals in the month of January, including a fantastic late brace against Chelsea last week. Alfie is the first Reading player to receive this accolade and becomes the only player to obtain the award without starting any games in the specific month.

Royals boss McDermott has led to his team a dramatic rise over the pats month, lifting themselves out of the relegation zone after a baron run at the end of November and start of December. However, two wins and a draw in four games has lifted Reading to 17th place and two points clear of the relegation zone.

On behalf of everyone at Vital Reading, well done to Brian and Alf for these fantastic and prestigious achievements.
