Loan watch: Obita and Gorkss shine

Reading loanee's Kaspars Gorkss and Jordan Obita had successful games for their respective sides this Saturday.

Obita, who joined Oldham Athletic on a youth-loan deal this month, scored the opening goal in their hard-fought 2-2 draw against Everton in the fifth round of the FA Cup yesterday. The 19-year old tapped in at the far post on 13 minutes and almost doubled his tally, but his long-range strike slammed against the post.

Latvian captain Kaspars Gorkss made his debut for Wolves yesterday, helping them to only their second cleansheet in two months, after a 0-0 draw with Derby. Local journalists and Wolves fans were very complementary of his performance, with the 31-year old making a crucial interception in the closing stages in the game.
