On-loan Reading winger Jordan Obita has spoke about his dream debut in the FA Cup for Oldham and is relishing his trip to Goodison Park tonight.
The 19-year old, who is currently on a youth-loan deal with the League One side, scored the opening goal in the FA Cup fifth round tie against Everton two weeks ago and will face the Premier League outfit at Goodison Park tonight. Obita is an academy product at Reading, but is yet to make an appearance in the league for the Royals.
Speaking to Oldham's Official website, Obita said: 'It was fantastic that my first game in the FA Cup was against a Premier League club as was the fact I scored and we earned a replay. It was incredible to score and it was the biggest goal of my career and certainly the most important one so far.'
'As a player, you want to play against the best. I thought every one of our players did well against Premier League footballers. The last time was in a reserve-team match for Reading, but tomorrow will be far different with a big crowd to cheer us on. Hopefully our fans can help us win the game. It is a nice stadium and the pitch is amazing.'
It's great to see Jordan getting some games at the moment, as glimpses of him in a Royals shirt show how he has got great potential. It might be tough for him to make it into the first team in the next few years, but a few loan spells away will do him a world of good, as it did for the likes of Hal Robson-Kanu and Alex Pearce.
