HRK feels he should have first team chance earlier

HRK feels he should have first team chance earlier

Hal Robson-Kanu is starting to become a leading figure of the Reading side, but feels he is no better than he was two seasons ago.

The Welsh international featured 27 times for the Royals in the 2010/11 season under McDermott, but struggled to gain a regular start with the form of Jimmy Kebe and Jobi McAnuff. However, this season, Robson-Kanu has established himself as one of Reading's most improved players and best performers this campaign.

Quoted by the Daily Mirror, HRK said: 'I`m confident that what I do now was the same as what I was doing two years ago, but it`s about being given the opportunity. The manager has come in and played me and I`m showing what I can do. I feel in my heart of hearts that if I was given the opportunity two years ago I would have done the same.'

Quite strange quotes from HRK, he didn't seem to voice any frustration at the time. I do remember Kebe having a spell out injured though and opted for Shaun Cummings at right wing against Cardiff, which would have hurt him. Despite that, he will certainly be one of our best players next year and could face a fight to keep him this summer.
