Loan watch: Sheppard on target

Remember that guy Karl Sheppard? The Irish wonderkid with a load of potential? You may not even know that he went out on loan in January!

The 22-year old signed from Shamrock Rovers in January last year, but failed to make a single first team appearance for the Royals, although an early injury hindered his progress. However, a loan spell at Accrington Stanley didn't prove too fruitful either, scoring just one goal in ten appearances.

He joined Shamrock on loan back in January and is starting to find the net again in Ireland. He scored his first goal in nine games last week and has added a brace to his record in their 7-1 thumping of Drogheda United yesterday. I wish you all the best Karl, but I don't think you are going to be the next Kevin Doyle somehow!
