Released duo linked with Championship moves

The list of former players that could be facing Reading this season, goes on, with two more linked to Championship clubs.

Former left back Nicky Shorey is currently on a week-long trial with managerless Brighton, after being released a year after his second Royals coming. Rumours of personal problems affected Shorey's first team chances, but did manage 17 starts in the Premier League last year.

The other player who could remain in the Championship is academy graduate Simon Church, who has been linked with a move to Lee Clark's Birmingham. The 24-year old was released after failing to make a single appearance last season.

Both players had a combined 14 years at the club, so the best of luck to the both of them in finding new clubs!
