'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Royals starlet dreams of first team place

Reading youngster Liam Kelly is dreaming of making it into the first team and playing in the Premier League.

The 17-year old is currently in the academy, but is making great inroads with his performances in central midfielder, especially with some special goals. As well as a Le Tissier-esque free kick, he scored from the half-way line for the Republic of Ireland under 19s.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kelly said: 'Reading is a very good club to be at to help me develop my game as they have great team of coaches down here at the Academy. Eamonn Dolan has been a massive help to me at the Academy as have all the coaches and I am enjoying my football.'

'I plan to keep working hard and hopefully get a chance in the first-team this season if possible. I want to get in the first team and to play in the Premier League in the future. Every kid growing up who wants to be a footballer they want to play in the Premier League against the best players and I am no different.'

It's great to see a youngster having a dream of playing for his local team, rather than just getting caught up in the fame of two spectacular goals. Adkins has stated his urge to use youth and if young Kelly carries on in the same vein, I'm sure he'll have a shot in the first team soon.
