Defender set for new Reading deal

Royals defender Sean Morrison is on the verge of agreeing a new contract at Reading.
The team skipper's current deal is set to run until 2016, but a new contract would be likely to keep him at the Madejski Stadium until 2018. Talks have been ongoing with Nicky Hammond as early as the summer, but Morro revealed that it is close to a conclusion.
Speaking to the Reading Post, Morrison said: "Hopefully it`ll be done in the next couple of weeks, It`s been a slow process, but that`s what these sort of things can be. It`s been coming together for three or four months now, but we`re coming to the closing stages.'
'It`s about getting things right and trying to lock down a few more years at Reading. I`m very happy here so I hope it`s done soon. The manager likes me and the fans seem to like me. I feel wanted here. I love the place and it`s a great club.'
Morrison has a big future at the club, especially considering the promise he has shown already, despite only being 22 years of age. Arsenal were rumoured to be sniffing around him last season and if he continues to impress, he could have other potential suitors keeping an eye on him.
