Adkins hinting at no deals this month

Nigel Adkins has dropped a hint that we won't be seeing anyone come in, in this January transfer window.

Any potential deals this month have all hinged on the takeover of the club being completed and despite movement on that front, it doesn't seem anything will be completed until after January. This could well mean that Adkins won't be doing any transfer business this month.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Adkins said: 'In terms of transfers, I don't want to talk about anyone else in this window, I'd rather speak about a group of players working really hard for each other, which was demonstrated on Saturday.'

'Maybe we turn around and say, we've got a group of people, with several to come back from injury, they've all shown they can do well, all working hard, maybe we just say 'this is us,' let's have a good crack at it second half of the season, really enjoy it and see where it takes us.'

It seems that Nigel is essentially confirming that the likelihood is we won't be bringing anybody in this month. This is probably down to the ownership, but he makes a good point how the signings would be like new players, especially the likes of Bridge, Karacan and Morrison.
