Omani takeover talks continue

Talks are continuing between the Reading hierarchy and Omani investors ahead of a potential takeover deal.

It was reported the other day that Omani investors were flying in for further talks, but it appears we are no nearer a conclusion. The American consortium is still interested in buying the club, but the Omani offer seems to be exceeded the American one.

This delay is mainly causing problems for Nigel Adkins and any potential transfer targets he has. Get Reading is reporting that the club don't want to get involved in any negotiations, without any clear outlook on the finances and potential transfer budget.

I have my doubts whether this will be completed within nine days, which is how long we have left in the transfer window. Adkins does seem resigned to not bringing anyone in this month, but probably needs another striker if he wants to continue with his 4-4-2 system.
