'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reading target moves elsewhere

Reading's financial uncertainty has meant we have missed out on signing Billy Sharp.

The 27-year old yesterday moved to fellow Championship side Doncaster Rovers on a loan deal until the end of the season. Is was believed that Nigel Adkins wanted to re-sign the striker after his loan experienced earlier this month, but financial insecurity meant otherwise.

His contract runs out at the end of the season, so depending what division we are in, could follow up a move then. Sharp scored two goals in his spell with Reading, but most of his tenure was plagued with injury, despite finding some form late on.

In all honesty, I never understood the Sharp hype, but I'm sure he would have been a better player at full fitness. I would still like to think that we will bring in another striker this month, especially if Adkins is going to stick with 4-4-2.
