Royals to appeal red card

Reading will appeal the red card against Kaspars Gorkss, despite the manager thinking the decision was justified at the time.

The Latvian defender was sent off against his former side for an adjudged lunge on Junior Hoilett, with referee David Coote producing a red card. If the appeal is rejected, then Gorkss will miss the next four games, as he has already been sent off this campaign.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website after the QPR game, Adkins said: 'From where I was on the other side of the pitch, it looked like a silly challenge to contemplate. But having seen the video back, I think there is a lot of debate about it.'

It seems the majority think it was the wrong decision and rightly so, it was an awful decision by the ref. It wasn't even because he got the ball, it was more the fact it was with one foot and to call it a lunge and reckless is ridiculous - I'm sure it will be rescinded by the FA.
