Adkins: Our momentum has slipped

Nigel Adkins has admitted that his side are losing their good momentum after Reading's home loss to Blackburn.

The Royals seem to be struggling to find consistency after a good January in terms of results, also meaning that Reading have lost their previous two home games. Craig Conway scored the winner for the visitors, but were lucky to not concede a penalty in the second half.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website after the game, Adkins said: 'We've let our momentum slip away a little bit, which is a shame. I thought we started well, put the ball in good areas, but conceded a goal when we got done on the counter attack.'

'It was from our own free kick, there's a suggestion of a foul on Gunter although I haven't seen it, but they scored and it gave them something to hang onto. Then it was a clear penalty, and that's two games against Blackburn now when we've had penalties not given.'

You have to agree that we really haven't had our share of refereeing decisions this season, but that can't excuse what was a poor performance. The build up play was OK, but the final ball was really lacking, giving Pog and Alfie absolutely no supply.
