'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adkins satisfied with crucial point

Nigel Adkins seemed pleased with the Royals' performance against Leicester, which sees us move back into the play-off spots.

It was a spirited showing against the league leaders, with the Royals arguably deserving at least a point from the game. Alex Pearce gave us an early lead, but Danny Drinkwater's deflected effort before half time meant the points were shared at the Madejski Stadium.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website after the game, Adkins said: 'We've got an important point and it puts us back in the play-offs with four games to go. We wanted passion, hunger and grit, and then we needed it at the end when Ledge was sent off.'

'We gave them problems, at times we could go and break, we got Garath in a couple of times. So we take a point, it's in our own hands, it's going to be nailbiting, I'd like to think it'll go all the way and we've got four exciting games coming up.'

It has to go down as a good point, especially considering Leicester have the best away record in the division, and we have been struggling on our home turf as of late. We are back in the play-off spots and that's the main thing - every point counts at this stage of the season!

ADKINS is bluffing, . He can not be happy with one point at this stage of the run in. . . . . READING have an even tougher job to do now
RED LETTER DAY
Nigel is a very positive man. Like you say, as much as three points would be have been ideal, a point is still a good result against the best side in the division.
