Forgotten man on verge of Royals exit

The forgotten man, Daniel Carrico, appears to be on the verge of leaving the club permanently.

The former Sporting Lisbon captain is still officially a Reading player, but has spent the season on loan at Sevilla, where he is expected to complete a permanent move. This would be triggered as a part of the loan deal, but the fee that we will receive is still unknown.

Carrico arrived from Portugal in January last year, but after failing to get to the required fitness, made just three appearances and after relegation, no longer saw his future at the club. Therefore, the Spanish club signed him at the start of the current season on loan.

A player who arrived with great expectation, but was unlucky with injuries and fitness issues. He looked like a good, tenacious midfielder in his short tenure here, who could have been capable of playing in the top division, but it just didn`t work out, unfortunately.
