'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Further three players released

It appears that the summer clear out is just beginning, as another three players were released yesterday.

The players in question are three academy products in Lawson D'Ath, Nick Arnold and most surprisingly, Gozie Ugwu. While it has yet to be confirmed officially by the club, all three players revealed it through their Twitter feeds that their contacts would not be renewed.

D'Ath, 21, has spent this season on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge, while Arnold also spent the season on loan in League Two at Wycombe. Ugwu had a loan spell with Shrewsbury and made the bench against Doncaster last month, but his season has been affected by injuries.

Arnold and D'Ath being released isn't a shock, but I am surprised about Ugwu, who showed decent promise for the under 21 side this season, but I trust the judgement of those who make the decision. Best of luck to all three of them and I'm sure they will find new clubs very soon.
