Obita hopes for under 20s birth

Jordan Obita was an unused substitute for the England under 21 side on Monday, but is set to feature in the Toulon Tournament next week.

The tournament taking place in France this week and the following week is only open to under 20 players. This means that the likes of Tom Ince and Jesse Lingard are unavailable for Gareth Southgate's side, hopefully giving Obita more of a chance of an appearance.

Obita, won our player of the season award, is yet to earn a cap for the under 21 side, despite being capped at previous age groups. I'm sure that he will get some playing time in the tournament and progress his development further, after a fantastic season personally.

Let's just hope that the scouts won't be making any enquiries to us if he does make a good impression. There is talk of interest from Liverpool, with Arsenal the latest side to reportedly join the race - we should remain confident of keeping hold of him for now though.
