Gunter on fixture release

Chris Gunter is looking forward to playing former club Cardiff City, as well as seeing former teammate Adam le Fondre.

The Welsh international spent two seasons with the Bluebirds, before moving onto Tottenham in 2008. Cardiff were relegated to the Championship in May, meaning not only a reunion with his former side, but former teammate in Adam le Fondre, who moved there last month.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Gunter said: 'It would be nice to have a home start. Last season I was looking out especially for when we play Forest, and now I'll look for Cardiff - another former club. It'll be nice to play them and also see Alfie again.'

'As players, as soon as the fixtures come in we also scan through them and get excited - that's when it hits home that the season is not far away and very soon we'll be back for pre-season. It will great to see the fans back for that first home game, filling up the stadium.'
