No transfers until takeover completed
It appears there will be no transfers in or out at Reading, until the takeover has been completed.
Former Reading Post journalist Jonny Fordham tweeted the following, confirming there will be no incomings or outgoings until Samrit Bunditkitsada has completed his 90% takeover of the club. This also includes any new contracts being offered to first team players.
Told there will be NO buying OR selling at #readingfc until takeover sorted. Decisions over first-team player contracts also on hold— Jonny Fordham (@JonnyFordham) July 3, 2014
The timescale on when the takeover is due to be completed is unknown, but is hoped it will be finalised next week, if not the following week. This shouldn't however stop Nigel Adkins and Nicky Hammond formulating a list of potential targets and even entering discussions with clubs.
Does this raise a hint of doubt though? Anton pumped money into the club, even before his takeover was completed - does Samrit have some concerns that it will not be going through? I'm trying to play devil's advocate here, but Adkins will want to bring players in ASAP.
