Royals to face familiar faces?

The released duo of Jobi McAnuff and Mikele Leigertwood could be staying in the Championship after all.

Both former Royals players are being linked with a move to fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest, with Stuart Pearce keen to add some experience to his side. McAnuff has been linked with a move abroad, but could be tempted to stay in England for another season.

Leigertwood only recently returned from a recurring long-term ankle problem, but also is currently looking for a new club. Ipswich were also linked with the midfielder who made over 100 appearances in his three-and-a-half year tenure at the Madejski Stadium.

It did come as a slight shock the both of them being released, especially as they looked like they had one more season left in them. However, I'm sure other teams in this division will benefit from their experience - it will be very strange to see them in different strips!
