Pearce on scoresheet for Ireland again

Pearce on scoresheet for Ireland again

Alex Pearce added to his Ireland goal tally yesterday night, taking his tally up to two goals in five games.

The central defender started for Martin O'Neill's side in their 2-0 victory over Oman, with our former striker Kevin Doyle scoring the other goal. It was a great finish from the big man too, finishing well into the bottom-corner with his left foot, as he played the whole game.

Pearcey's goal record isn't too bad for us either, scoring 14 goals in 172 games - not bad for a centre half. His club and country teammates Stephen Kelly and Simon Cox did not feature, with Kelly still recovering from an injury, while Cox was only on standby for Ireland.

We have a few more first teamers set to appear for their country in the next few days, with Chris Gunter and Jake Taylor with Wales for their game with Andorra. Oliver Norwood is set to start for Northern Ireland on Sunday night, as they take on Hungary in an international qualifer.
