According to an article at Vital Blackburn, Kevin Doyle has been linked to a move to Ewood Park.
The Reading forward who has notched up 5 goals in his first season in the Premiership was reported to be a target of Blackburn fetching up to 8million in some reports.
It comes as no suprise that Doyle is being linked with other teams, the goal-hungry forward has impressed on all stages so far this season.
However the Royals were eager to suppress such rumours and Director of Football, Nicky Hammond, was quick to deny that such a transfer was going to happen:
'We want to establish ourselves in the Premiership and we won't do that by selling our best players.'
'Kevin Doyle signed a new contract recently and he won't be going anywhere."
Kevin Doyle began his career at Reading with a move from Cork City for just £78,000 and the striker Shane Long was also thrown into the contract, a bargain deal! Since then Doyle has become a first team regular and was joint top goal scorer in last seasons record breaking season.
Since then Doyle has become a top Premiership striker scoring more in the League so far then Andriy Shevchenko and level with world class acts like Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney. Doyle is now also featuring regularly in the Republic of Ireland outfit; he also has the best record for goals to matches in Ireland`s international football.
Doyle has been pivotal in Reading`s first Premier League campaign and let`s hope that the gifted striker will be at the club for years to come yet.
Thanks to Vital Blackburn for this story which otherwise would have escaped my radar :)
