Danish Keeper Set For Reading

Reading are poised to complete the signing of Danish goalkeeper, Mikkel Andersen.

The teenage keeper has been at the club a few times on a trial basis and now it looks certain that he will make a permanent switch.

Andersen is thought to be costing Reading somewhere in the region of £100,000.

The 18-year-old is currently the reserve goalie at Danish club AB Copenhagen who play in the second tier of Danish football.

Manager, Steve Coppell said: 'He's been coming over to train for a couple of years on and off
.
'We've kept an eye on him and we think he can become a very good player.'

The youngster will become Reading`s 4th choice goalkeeper, competing with other keepers, Adam Federci, Graham Stack and 1st choice Marcus Hahnemann, although his arrival is very unlikely to dislodge Hahnemann from his place.

Meanwhile second choice Graham Stack is recovering from the injury he picked up while at Leeds United on loan. Rumours suggest that Stack could join the club again on a loan period till the end of the season, if not on a more permanent fixture.

Adam Federici was impressive in his first full debut against Burnley. The Australian kept Reading in the game on a number of occasions stopping some excellent strikes from Ade Akinyibi.
