Match Day Officials v Gillingham (8/8/17)

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Gillingham this Tuesday.

Reading host Gillingham on Tuesday August 8 for the League Cup Round One tie at the Madejski Stadium and the match carries an 8pm kick off.

Referee: Brett Huxtable
Assistant Refs: Kevin Morris and Andrew Aylott
Fourth Official: Michael Webb

Match Day referee Huxtable is yet to officiate a game in 2017/18.

He was new to the Football League in 2016/17 having spent the previous year in the National Conference.

Last season he took in 38 games, showing 140 yellow cards and five red cards.

His highest card count that season was eight yellows in the game between Yeovil Town and Colchester United. Seven yellows and one red were shown in the game between Oxford United and Oldham Athletic.

He took in 20 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 37 yellow cards and one red card.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
