Player Ratings - Millwall (H)

Player Ratings - Millwall (H)

Following our second-round Carabao Cup win against Millwall last night, we take a look at the players ratings from the 3-1 win after extra time, including some very promising performances from our youngsters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anssi Jaakkola - 6
- A quiet game for the back-up keeper, who didn`t have an awful lot to do. His distribution was good and couldn`t do much about the goal.

Tiago Illori - 7 - The defender proved his was a class apart in this one, as he looked solid against a physical front line that Millwall had and showed his experience with his distribution. After dropping to the bench in recent games, he would have given Stam food for fought for Birmingham on the weekend.

Axel Andresson - 7 - A very composed and assured performance from the academy graduate making his first appearance of the season. He was strong in the air and not afraid to pick a pass, the lad has a bright future.

George Evans - 6 - He was rarely troubled defensively at centre-half again, but was useful in keeping the ball ticking along at the back, without really pulling the strings massively. Very good finish for the goal.

Chris Gunter - 6 - Gunts has never been put down as an attacking full-back, especially on the left side, but he kept it solid defensively and tried to overlap when he could.

Andy Rinomhota - 8 - Man of the Match - He impressed in the first round against Gillingham and once again the youngster proved his worth. He played in a less familiar wing back position, but he used his aggression and pace superbly to excel in the role. Another youngster with plenty of promise.

Adi Popa - 5 - Plenty of energy from the winger playing on the left side, but his lack of end product and reluctance to use his left foot was frustrating. He had the beating of his marker all game but was very wasteful.

Stephen Quinn - 7 - Like when he came on against Gillingham, Quinny looked a class above in the middle. So composed on the ball with plenty of energy and keeps the tempo up. If he can get up to full fitness, he could be a massive asset for us this season.

Leandro Bacuna - 7 - An impressive home debut for the new summer signing, who topped off a good performance with a superb goal. He showed plenty of drive and energy, almost like Williams, and has an eye for a pass. Once he gets into full flow, he could be an outstanding signing.

Garath McCleary - 5 - It was great to see GMac back, but you could tell he was a little off the pace with his touch. Unsurprising to see him taken off at half time as he hasn`t played much, but good to see him back nonetheless.

Sam Smith - 6 - The academy graduate looked slightly out of his depth in the last round, but improved on last time against two physical defenders in Webster and Cooper. While he couldn`t win much in the air, the work rate was there and showed the odd sign of smart link up with the midfield, a superb finish for his first professional goal.

----------------------------------SUBSTITUTES----------------------------------

Pelle Clement - 6 - The Dutchman was introduced at half time and portrayed his usual flair, but in a slightly deeper role, so couldn`t affect the game as much.

Modou Barrow - 7 - I`ve never seen a team back off as much when a player is running at them, Barrow caused havoc whenever he got on the ball. His shooting could improve, but he looks like he could be a real fan favourite here.

Tyler Blackett - 6 - Came on for the injured Andresson and he did what he needed to keep it tight at the back.

Danny Loader - N/A - The new rules meant Stam could make a fourth sub in extra time, which saw a debut for the highly-rated 16-year old. He didn`t see much of the ball, but great to see him get a ru
