Team news - Reading vs Sheffield Wednesday

We're back at the Madejski Stadium again and we welcome Sheffield Wednesday, as both teams are looking to kick start their season. We take a look at team news for both sides.

Goalkeeper Vito Mannone was missing against Bolton due to personal reasons, so is expected to return between the sticks. Midfielder John Swift was brought off with injury against Bolton so is a doubt, but Liam Kelly will be ready to step in. Striker Yann Kermorgant should start after being rested midweek.

Winger Callum Harriott is finally back in training, but won't be considered for a match-day squad in a good while yet. There is still no idea on the return of Garath McCleary, with the same appying to striker Joseph Mendes who is yet to play this season. Jordan Obita remains a longer-term absentee with his ACL surgery.

Wednesday boss Carlos Carvahal is not expected to ring that many chances to his side that drew at Ipswich in the week. Striker Adthe Nuhiu came off the bench to net the equaliser, but is still unlikely to merit a starting place. Talisman Fernando Forestieri remains sidelined with injury for the Owls.

Summer signing George Boyd is still on the treatment table, as are defenders Sam Hutchinson and Daniel Pudil. The only player likely to start from the bench is Keiran Lee and Steven Fletcher, who may start at the expense of Barry Bannan and Jordan Rhodes.
