Coppell`s Coaches To Get New Deals

Following the signing of god-like-manager Steve Coppell`s contract the whole of the Reading backroom is set to follow suite in recent weeks.

With Coppell tied to the Royals for the longer length contract time of two years (that`s one more then usual, or double for the optimists!!) his coaching team look certain to sign on for the same time too - one big happy Royal family!

Wally Downes is even putting his managerial ambitions on hold to stick with the high-flying Royals:

"I certainly would like to be a manager again one day but I wouldn`t like the experience I had before - where you find yourself limited to how successful you can be,

The results for me at the end weren`t good enough, but my spec was to keep the club afloat and in business. I did that for 18 months and you can`t keep doing that forever if you don`t have the funds."

But for the time being, Downes only has his sights on a contract with Reading:

"I want to stay. It`s great working here and my deal runs out in July. I`m sure that when the time comes negotiations will happen.

"I love it here. It`s a great place to work. I can`t speak highly enough of everyone here and the fact that Steve has signed is just great news."
