Coppell Praise For Keeper

Reading manager Steve Coppell watched his side see off Coventry City at the Madejski Stadium but was quick to praise goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann for his efforts during the game.

The win put the Royals nine points clear at the top of the Championship from Sheffield United who could only manage a draw.

And even though it was Dave Kitson who hit both the goals in this encounter, the service of the keeper were noted by the boss.

Coppell said: 'He made four top-quality saves and they also hit the woodwork. Marcus has been terrific for us this season. He is a terrific kicker and a superb shot-stopper.

'He has the World Cup in his sights and his performances need to reflect that. He's not just hoping to make the squad, he is hoping to make the team.'
