Leroy Lita has joined the growing number of people calling for fans to get off of David Bentley's back, after England fans booed him as he made his debut at the weekend.
Lita was a part of the England under 21 squad that were left a man short after Bentley's late withdrawal before the European Championships, but he hold no grudge against Bentley and says the fans should get off his case, "to be honest I did not take much notice of it," Lita told Sky Sports News.
"David is a good player and he has been playing really well for Blackburn and he deserves to be in the squad.
It is not only Lita that holds no grudge against Bentley pulling out of the England under 21 side, he says no one did or does, "Not at all, we got on with it," Lita also told Sky Sport News.
"David got on with it and he made his decision and you have to respect it.
"Everyone should just forget about it now and move on and let him get on with his career."
At the time Bentley's decision may have left England a player down, but that decision has little or no impact on England's progress in the European Championships so if this was made with his, and England's best interests at heart then it was the right thing to do.
I can't understand the booing of any player, especially if they are one of your countries own.
