'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fans Earn Coppell's Praise

Steve Coppell has heaped praise upon the Reading fans, and the part we played in helping us beat Wigan on Saturday.

Crowds can make such a difference, and with the Madejski Stadium rocking at the weekend this helped spur on the Royals to claim all three points. Coppell told Reading world, "They really tried for us, and that's all anyone can ask.

"If the game was going flat, they really tried to get us going.

"There was a great atmosphere at the end, the goal was a great reward and the lid came off!

"It was a terrific goal, and worthy of winning any game. It was brilliant.

He will now be looking for more of the same as we face Liverpool tonight, with tickets selling well despite the fact that it will be shown live on television, "We've had a great response again for the Liverpool game in terms of selling tickets," Coppell also told Reading World.

"It's on TV, so it's obviously an attractive fixture."

On television or now, the crowd will again be right behind the Royals, hoping to spur us on again to another win, and a place in the next round of the Carling Cup. This would keep confidence very high ahead of out tricky visit to Portsmouth on Saturday.

It was a brilliant performance from the crowd on Saturday, and this can make such a difference. It should be another great atmosphere again tonight.

We can make a difference can't we. Hopefully we can make a difference at Pompey this weekend.
