Coppell Regrets his Recent Outburst

Steve Coppell isn't really the most animated of managers is he, in fact he is often accused of being "boring", but he showed a real mean streak recently with his outburst to the media.

After being questioned for the umpteenth time on the second season syndrome problem Reading are allegedly suffering from Coppell lost it and unleashed on a reporter, with his colourful language edited out for national newspapers, and this very website.

However, he regrets this outburst as he explained to readingfc.co.uk, "We'd just been beaten, I was down. I had done the press, so this bloke asks that question.

"That is the dumb question. It was relevant before the season and in the first couple of games, but we'd just been in a game with a record 11 goals.

"So the fella asks about second seasons syndrome. I answered and swore a couple of times."

Even Steve Coppell can only be pushed so far can't he as he showed.

You can understand his frustration, he had just seen us beaten 7-4 so he must have been angry enough without having to field questions on second season syndrome once again.

Get on Stevie, it was good to see you kicking off, but good on you for explaining yourself.
