Steve Coppell has four strikers vying for two positions, one in particular Leroy Lita is desperate to play and start scoring again.
Dave Kitson is the top scorer at the moment, making up for the lost time from last season, and Kevin Doyle scored his first goal of the season against Derby in the last match, but Shane Long and Leroy Lita are eager to play, the latter in particular but they will have to be patient as Steve Coppell told readingfc.co.uk, "There's competition up front, but as far as Leroy's concerned it's not healthy, he's not playing!
"I'm not in for rotation, we are not in a position where we can do that. I just look at the performances, make a decision for the next game and go from there.
"Kits and Doyler have looked OK. They've got a little bit of everything between them.
"They're both capable in the air, and they're both mobile.
Kitson and Doyle are his current pairing, but Kitson appears to be the one who will almost be the constant in any pairing, "Kits is probably the most different one of the four strikers," Coppell also told readingfc.co.uk.
"More often than not, I would think he would be, when he's fit, one of the two."
So long as people are hungry to play this can only be a good thing for Reading, but if they start getting past hungry and angry they aren't playing, this is when you can have problems.
