Boss Doesn't Enjoy his Job
Steve Coppell has said that he doesn't enjoy his job, which might make some question his future with the club, but this is just Coppell being Coppell, we know what he is like.
Coppell is a strange character in may ways, but his latest claims that he doesn't enjoy his job rank right up there with the most bizarre things he has ever said, and is ever likely to say. He says that he treats it just like anyone else treats their job, it pays the bills, "I don't enjoy the week-to-week role of being a manager," Coppell told Setanta Sports. "I don't think 'oh I'm doing really well, aren't we great."
"The only time I enjoy it is when I'm sat on a beach in the summer with a beer when I can look back on the season and go, 'yeah, we did OK there'.
"Why do I do it if I don't enjoy it? I've got bills to pay, same as anyone else. Why does anyone do their jobs?"
I can understand what he is saying, but you have to take this with a pinch of salt don't you as he wouldn't be doing the job if he really didn't like it, certainly not a job with so much pressure attached to it, it just wouldn't be worth it.

He is a strange character isn't he, but I doubt very much he fully means what he says, or at least means it to come out the way it may. Cue the Coppell is going to quite Reading talk now I suppose!

With the way managers are getting the sack nowadays I am surprised if anybody enjoys doing it!!!!

I agree with the pair of you, Coppell is a grumpy git, but things are said tongue in cheek with him I think most of the time. It really is a tough business to enjoy these days isn't it, as it's just that a business.
