Cardiff (H) Match Preview

The Royals welcome promotion favourites Cardiff to the Madejksi Stadium on Wednesday evening in the next of a long run of difficult games in the month of November.

Despite losing the South Wales derby on Sunday against Swansea, the Bluebirds sit second in the table and desperate to get back to winning ways.

Vital Quotes:

Jem Karacan, on the stick Shane Long has been getting from certain sections of Reading supporters -

'It`s annoying when we see him get that stick now and then because he does an amazing job for the team, puts in performances week-in week-out and other boys get the credit. He works his nuts off up top and we`re delighted for him. He is our main striker and we need all the fans behind him.'

Reading Team News:

The Royals will have to do without Jimmy Kebe as the winger has still not recovered from a knee injury. Brian McDermott could opt to make changes to the side that lost at QPR and there could be a first start of the season in the league for Michail Antonio.

Brynjar Gunnarsson is still out with a hamstring injury that has seen him out since the end of August.

Player to watch: Jobi McAnuff

Celebrated his 29th birthday on Tuesday and needs to step up his performances, as one of the clubs experienced pros. In the absence of Jimmy Kebe we need the wingers to put in better performances than they did at QPR on Saturday.

Cardiff Team News:

Craig Bellamy could miss out with an ongoing knee injury and he may not be risked. Chris Burke will be restored to the starting lineup after he was left out in Sunday's game against Swansea whilst Jay Bothroyd will also return from suspension to lead the line alongside Michael Chopra.

Player to watch: Jay Bothroyd

Striker has been touted for an England call up in recent weeks and will return to the starting line up after missing the South Wales derby through suspension.

Last Meeting

Saturday 10th April 2010, Cardiff 0-0 Reading

Match Prediction:

Another tough game and I feel another defeat for the Royals. Can see it being a close game but a win for the Bluebirds - 2-1.

Next Fixture:

Saturday 13th November 2010, Norwich (H) 5.20pm KO
