Brighton (A) Match Preview

With the majority of the Championship playing yesterday, Brighton and Reading aim to catch up. West Ham could only salvage a draw against Birmingham, meaning a Royals win could extend to gap in second to six points. Meanwhile, a win for the home side would take them back into the play-off places.

Vital Quotes:

Brighton manager Gus Poyet - 'We have a chance to test ourselves against the best team and it will be good to see how the players perform against them. I hope that the Reading match shows that we want to compete at the same level as these teams for the next few years.'

Reading boss Brian McDermott - 'This season we've got five games to go, fifteen points to play for and, lots of twists and turns - but all we've got to focus on is Brighton. It's going to be a full house because it's two good sides, in form - both trying to achieve something.'

Brighton Team News:

Brighton will have midfielder Matt Sparrow back from suspension for this game, but Liam Bridcutt is still serving a suspension.

Player to watch: Sam Vokes

The towering Welshman has proved to be a revelation at the Amex, chipping in with some crucial goals to help their play-off push.

Reading Team News:

Reading will be without midfielder Jem Karacan who broke his ankle against Leeds last week. His usual replacement Jay Tabb has a rib injury, so either Hayden Mullins or Jobi McAnuff will replace the Turkish midfielder.

Player to watch: Jobi McAnuff

The Royals captain is likely to replace Jem Karacan in the centre of midfield so it will be interesting to see how he plays from the start there.

Reverse fixture:

Reading/b> 3 - 0 Brighton

McAnuff (17, 45) El-Abd OG (90)

Match Prediction:

Brighton have one of the best home records in the league so this will not be easy, I'd take a 1-1 draw.

Next Fixtures:

Brighton - West Ham (A) - Saturday 14th April - nPower Championship

Reading/b> - Southampton (A) - Friday 13th April - nPower Championship
