Reading vs. Peterborough

Madejski Stadium

28th August 2012

8.00pm KO

Peterborough (H) Match Preview

The Capital One cup comes to the Madejski Stadium, as Reading start the competition in the second round. Their Championship opponents Peterborough sailed into the second round with a 4-0 triumph over Southend.

Vital Quotes:

Reading manager Brian McDermott - 'To have a game postponed in August is very odd. It's disappointing for all our fans who have travelled and it's cost them a lot of money. It's hard for them because financially that's a expensive trip and that's what I'm more sorry about. We were ready to play and we were looking forward to playing, but now we move on to our next game.'

Reading Team News:

Striker Jason Roberts could retain a place on the bench for this game after recovering from a calf problem and finishing his suspension. Brian McDermott is likely to make changes for this game, but will once again be without winger Jimmy Kebe, who has a hamstring injury.

Player to watch: Adrian Mariappa

The summer signing from Watford is still waiting on the fringes of the starting XI for his chance at the Premier League. He will want to make a claim tonight to challenge the starting partnership of Pearce and Gorkss.

Peterborough Team News:

Posh striker Tyronne Barnett is a doubt for the game, but Darren Ferguson is set to ring the changes after three straight defeats. Summer signings Jonson Clarke-Harris, Danny Swanson, and Nathaniel Knight-Percival are all set to start.

Player to watch: Danny Swanson

The 5'6 playmaker made the move to English football last month in June, after a very successful spell in the SPL with Dundee United. Has been selected in various Scotland squads, but is yet to earn a cap.
