The experienced centre half spent the first 10 years of his career in Latvia and Sweden where he made around 170 appearances and scoring 15 goals from defence.
The Latvian captain then had his chance in England as he signed for Blackpool in 2007, playing a crucial part in their season. This led to him being signed for QPR in 2008 for £250k plus players deal.
After helping QPR in their promotion winning 2010/11 season, Rangers boss admitted Gorkss wouldn't be in his plans and was eventually sold to Reading in a deal worth around £900k.
