The Romford-born defender completed his move back to the Royals in July on a free transfer, following his release from West Brom in May.

After starting off his career at Leyton Orient, he joined Reading in 2001 and was to become one-of-the-best left backs to grace the Madejski Stadium. He witnessed two promotions under Steve Coppell, iconicly to the Premier League in 2006.

He went onto make two appearances for England after impressing at Reading, before completing a 3 million move to Aston Villa in 2008. However, his stint at Villa Park was not highly successful and had loan spells at Fulham and Forest, before signing for West Brom.
