Royals interested in Inter midfielder

Reading are contesting with Fulham over Inter Milan midfielder McDonald Mariga, according to talkSPORT.

The 25-year old has become surplus to requirements at the San Siro and has attracted interest various in Europe, but both Fulham and the Royals appear to be leading the chase. Mariga, who primarily plays as a central midfielder, most recently had a spell with his former side Parma on loan.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport have said that Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni will analyse his situation as the January transfer window approaches. The Kenyan international stands at 6'2 and is more of a defensive-minded midfielder, protecting the back four.
