Royals set to seal African prospect?

Reading could be set to beat fellow Premier League side Arsenal to the signing of defender Stoppila Sunzu, according to the Metro.

The 23-year old was reportedly set for a move to North London, but the Royals joined the equation and is confident of getting more game time with Brian McDermott's side. Metro have reported that Reading have submitted a bid of around £3 million for Sunzu.

The Zambian international play's primarily in central defence, but can also play a deep role in midfield. However, with the African Cup of Nations on the horizon, it could potentially halt McDermott from making a move, due to his commitments to his country during the tournament.

Not sure that this is 'Premier League' experience that Brian said he was looking for, but I'm willing to take him nonetheless. Stoppila is rated as one of the best young prospects in Africa, but wasn't that said about a certain Bongani Khumalo over a year ago?
