Hooper rumours gathering pace

The rumours that Reading have bid for Gary Hooper seem to be gathering pace, but I still wouldn't put my money on it!

The Daily Record believes that the Championship side have upped their bid for the 25-year old, after Hull reportedly had a bid of 4.5 million turned down by the Scottish champions. However, with only one year left on his current deal, reports believe Celtic could cash in for over 5 million this summer.

If you would have asked me if Drenthe or Hooper would be more plausible, I would have said Hooper, so it's not totally out of the equation. I still can't see it though, I can imagine a few Premier League sides would cough up 5 million for his services.

If any deal was to happen, it would probably be driven by Adkins and it seems that the papers are latching onto the same perception. Let's remember that its not exactly like the Dolan-Allardyce relationship, Hooper only played under Adkins for two seasons.
